Culminating three years of design, development, and construction, Genesis Studios officially opened its doors at noon, August 26th, 2008.  Local and state elected officials, along with Film Commissioner Jeff Monks were there for the event.  “This has been three long years, but I think the result has been well worth the wait,” said Art Director Will Bryan.  “A lot of the creative design elements were our own doing.”

The 15,000 square foot facility is a creative person’s dream.  “It’s fun, stimulating, and motivational,” says Bryan.  President Cliff Springs adds, “We want to thoroughly enjoy coming to work every day, and we want our clients to feel the same way when they come to visit.”

Among the highlights are two sound stages, a master control suite, multiple edit suites, a creative brainstorming area, and a 25-seat movie theater with 7.1 surround sound.  With the recent addition of the Indesign Firm and their sophisticated web design and custom application expertise, Genesis Studios is truly a one-stop location for all advertising and media communications.

With the studio no longer just a vision, but now a reality, the Genesis team has devoted much of their time and energy to Phase 2 of the goal of growing an indigenous film industry in S.C.  The studio will serve as host and sponsor for Emergent Films in what will hopefully help lay the foundation for bigger and better opportunities for home-grown filmmaking.
