Not Built in a Day
Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither will the filmmaking industry in S.C. After wrapping Saying Goodbye, it was incredibly apparent to us just how much of an impact just this short film had on our day-to-day workflow. Genesis Studios is a full-service marketing firm and production studio, and we depend on our valuable clients so that we can pay the power bill. Read the rest of this entry »
That’s a Wrap
Done! On Friday, October 9th, we wrapped principal photography for Saying Goodbye at Agape Senior Care in West Columbia. A Breather
Whew! The first four days of shooting Saying Goodbye have been long and full. We’re off Tuesday and Wednesday before resuming for the final two days Thursday and Friday. Although everyone involved has been fantastic, I think we all appreciate the breather we’ll get these two days.

Press Conference
On Monday, September 28, Genesis Studios president Cliff Springs announced the official launch of Emergent Films—a statewide, job and industry development initiative designed to facilitate the growth of the motion picture and film industry in South Carolina.

Had someone begun this sort of process years ago, the film industry would be alive and kicking in South Carolina. We at Genesis and Emergent Films want to make sure that 5 years from now producers, writers, directors, and every crew position is better off than they are now.”
Tomorrow’s Filmmakers

Saying Goodbye
This is the official first post of Saying Goodbye. Quite a bit has transpired long before this post and the launch of Emergent Films. Numerous discussions and meetings with USC, Trident Tech, and the S.C. Film Office have been necessary to get all the i’s dotted and the t’s crossed. Susan Hogue–a guest professor at USC who will head up the class for the students–has been instrumental in helping to keep the process moving and smooth.
